Offering Hope to the Hungry

Hunger relief has been the cornerstone of our mission since 1979, and now we are seeing more need than ever before. Our Hunger Relief programs include:

  • The Jan Jirousek Food Pantry at LSS, located onsite at 4615 Philips Highway, is currently distributing food in the back of the building. Walk-ups to the pantry are welcome, and clients may visit LSS for food up to once a month. Please bring your ID. Current pantry hours are Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.

*Pet food is provided based on availability*

Attention!

The LSS Food Pantry will require appointments starting October 1st.

The LSS Hunger Relief program is made possible by generous support from the City of Jacksonville, United Way of Northeast Florida, Feeding Northeast Florida, and Del Webb Ponte Vedra.

POUNDS OF FOOD DISTRIBUTED
Nourishment-Network-Testimonial-Image.jpg

No matter how many extra shifts my husband worked, we just still couldn’t cover our expenses for our three children. That’s when we turned to the LSS Hunger Relief program. The food we received took a major pressure off our shoulders and allowed me to put more energy into finding a job to help our family get out of this situation. We are so thankful that the LSS Food Pantry program was there to provide us with one in our greatest time of need.

Brenda Espinet, former LSS Food Pantry client
