Welcome to Lutheran Social Services of Northeast Florida
Lutheran Social Services of Northeast Florida is a faith based social service ministry solely
focused on improving the quality of life for people in need in Jacksonville, Florida,
and surrounding areas.
Formed in 1979, by a consortium of Lutheran churches and Jacksonville community leaders,
Lutheran Social Services seeks to address deficiencies in aid to poor families in the Jacksonville
area. From our humble beginnings, Lutheran Social Services has grown into one of the
most highly respected not-for-profit organizations in Northeast Florida.
Lutheran Social Services has helped thousands of individuals and families with a
wide range of needs including food, shelter, fiscal education, disease prevention and education,
and most recently, international adoptions.
A thrift store, called The Sharing Place, helps support LSS programs through
sales of household goods,
furniture, office equipment, knick-knacks, collectibles, appliances,
clothes, jewelry, and more for sale.
The Sharing Place Thrift Store needs your donations - household goods, furniture, office equipment, knick-knacks,
collectibles, appliances, clothes, jewelry, and more are needed to generate
funds to help people in need. Call Linda at 904.448.5995 to arrange for a
