New Name & Look:
A2H rebrands itself, will now be called Feeding America

In September 2008, America's Second Harvest became Feeding America.
This new name best conveys the organization's mission: providing food to Americans living with hunger-and will be supported through expansive public outreach campaigns that will raise awareness of domestic hunger and our work.

Despite a 30-year legacy of fighting hunger, America's Second Harvest has been confronted with low awareness among the general public, and a broader misunderstanding of domestic hunger. Knowing that true, monumental progress can be made when the public is fully engaged in the cause, the organization researched how it can best inspire people. It found that the name America's Second Harvest was limiting and that a new name was needed to quickly and clearly convey its mission.

Second Harvest Food Bank launches advertising campaign with goal of
increasing hunger awareness

The Second Harvest Food Bank of North Florida has launched an advertising campaign that is designed to make heads turn.

In an effort to heighten awareness about hunger in North Florida, it is unveiling an integrated communications campaign in conjunction with Hunger Action Month. The campaign integrates images of starving children using North Florida as a backdrop.

By placing these hyperbolic faces of hunger at the beach or on a golf course with the headline "Jacksonville's hunger problem isn't this obvious. Does it have to be?" the campaign sends a strong message of action to the community.
