America is the richest country in the world. And, yet tonight, many of our neighbors
will go to bed hungry. It may be a co-worker, a working mother whose job just doesn’t
make ends meet. Perhaps it is an elderly neighbor who has to make a decision whether to
delay filling a prescription or to buy groceries.
Of those receiving assistance from the Second Harvest Food Bank of Northeast Florida,
it has been calculated:
